We have partnered with Al Conklin, WBTV’s Chief Meteorologist, for his “the 3-Degree Guarantee.” We donate $50 every weekday his forecast is within 3° of the recorded high temperature to a local nonprofit each month.

The recipient for August 2026 is HopeKids North Carolina, a local nonprofit that supports families who have a child with cancer or another life-threatening medical condition. HopeKids provides free events and activities that give families something positive to anticipate, time to have fun together, and a supportive community of others facing similar challenges.

The recipient for July 2026 is McAdams Free Clinic, a local nonprofit that provides free, comprehensive healthcare to low-income, uninsured individuals in Mecklenburg, Union, Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties. Through primary and specialty care, integrated behavioral healthcare, and patient education, the clinic treats the whole person while helping remove financial barriers to essential medical care.

The recipient for June 2026 is Promising Pages, The Charlotte Area Book Bank, a local nonprofit helping children build home libraries and develop a love of reading. Promising Pages collects new and donated books and shares them with children, families, schools, and child-serving organizations throughout the Charlotte area, helping make books more accessible to children who may have few, if any, books at home.

The recipient for January 2026 is Bright Blessings, a local non-profit organization whose mission is bringing joy, care and hope to homeless and impoverished children by mobilizing community volunteers of all ages. Bright Blessings remains a volunteer-led organization that impacted 25,117 homeless and impoverished children in 2025 through their core programs; Bless-A-Birthday, Bless-A-Baby, and Gift of Care.

The recipient for December 2025 is A Better World, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to empower at-risk youth by enriching their physical, mental and spiritual development. They focus on supporting children in at-risk communities by addressing both their health and academic needs.

The recipient for November 2025 is Feeding Charlotte, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to rescue surplus, freshly prepared meals to reduce food waste and feed the hungry. They do this by connecting the dots between those with too much food to those without enough, by partnering with organizations, rescuing their leftover fresh meals, and delivering them to local nonprofits who feed the hungry.

The recipient for October 2025 is Continuing The Mission, a local non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Military Sexual Trauma (MST) by providing them with uniquely trained canine partners.

The recipient for July 2025 is Agape Acres, a non-profit located in the Steelecreek area of southwest Charlotte. Agape Acres is a refuge where struggling, vulnerable, and special needs youth are connected with a caring, trained mentor, nature, and rescue horses to bring about hope and change. The beauty, goodness, and healing that is inspired by nature and horses will be combined with communication and trust that is built with a positive role model.

The recipient for June 2025 is ZABS Place, a non-profit thrift boutique in Matthews, NC, serving as a thriving hub for young adults with special needs talents in the Charlotte area. They offer individualized training to empower these individuals, equipping them with valuable job and life skills to become key contributors to society.
Through their engaging community involvement initiatives, they actively support and encourage their Special Talent to achieve their career goals. As a go-to thrift boutique in the Charlotte area, ZABS Place provides a unique shopping experience and offers an inclusive environment where abilities are recognized, potential is found, and everyone is welcome.

The recipient for May 2025 is Women’s Health & Resilience Foundation, a local non-profit dedicated to empowering women by enhancing their health and resilience. Through immersive educational workshops, supportive assistance during and post-treatment, and impactful events like the Annual Concrete Rose Breast Cancer Awareness Gala, they aim to inspire women to proactively manage their well-being. Beyond mere awareness, they continuously raise funds to ensure lasting impact, fostering a thriving community where every woman embraces resilience and wellness.

The recipient for April 2025
The recipient for April 2025 is South Charlotte Dog Rescue, a local non-profit no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization. They are passionate about rescuing dogs in need and providing the opportunity for a happy and fulfilling life!
SCDR places dogs in loving, responsible, committed, permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.
Animals are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. They assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent finances allow dogs in the greatest need take priority.
They are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals.

The recipient for February is Take the Trip Foundation, a local non-profit organization whose mission is inspired by one woman’s journey, zest for life, and mission to pay it forward, the Take The Trip Foundation sends young families impacted by terminal illnesses on one special adventure together, leaving loved ones with cherished memories to carry with them, always.

The recipient for January is Victory Advantage, a local non-profit organization whose principal is living beyond limitations and whose mission is to provide pathways of hope and opportunity for individuals with disabilities to live beyond limitations, by offering financial assistance and resources that promotes independent living, dignity, and self-sufficiency in housing, employment, education and transportation.

The recipient for October is Hunger and Health Coalition, a North Carolina non-profit whose mission is to address the needs of vulnerable populations in our area, providing emergency assistance while striving for long-term solutions to the issues facing those we serve. The recipient for September is HopeWay, whose mission is “Making HOPE tangible by inspiring mental wellness for all”. They are a trusted nonprofit mental health treatment center located in Charlotte that is committed to filling the gap between hospital and home.

Classroom Central, our August recipient, is dedicated to ensuring every child has the tools to succeed. The recipient for June is Matthews Heritage Museum, part of the Matthews Historical Foundation. After months of restoration work, the foundation reached its goal in 2010 of renovating and restoring one of the earliest homes in historic downtown Matthews, returning it to a useful part of the community. The recipient for May is Watchmen of the Streets, a community of volunteers whose mission is to minister to the homeless who live under bridges, on the streets and in homeless encampments. Resources for housing, medical, addiction recovery, food, clothing and spiritual help are provided. Aid is brought to camps, relationships formed, prayers and hope given.
